I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Meta (California, MD) in Sep 2024
Interview
When I interviewed at Meta, the process was pretty fast-paced but super structured. It started with a recruiter reaching out to me after I applied online. We had a quick phone call where they asked about my background, what I was looking for, and then walked me through the whole interview timeline. They also made sure I understood what kinds of technical skills they were assessing and gave me some tips on how to prepare.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
“Given a binary tree, return the level order traversal of its nodes’ values. (i.e., from left to right, level by level).”
Overall it was a very nice experience. This role is in high demand given AI will now replace mid-level engineers at Meta. They asked behavioural questions and managerial questions. The interviewer was calm and composed.
Application Process: I applied online through Meta's careers page. The process took about 6 weeks in total. I was first contacted by a recruiter, followed by an initial phone screen, and then progressed to several rounds of interviews.
Interview Rounds:
Phone Screen with Recruiter: Basic questions about my background, why Meta, and a brief discussion on my understanding of the PM role.
Initial Interview with a PM: This was a video call focusing on my previous experience, with a deep dive into one of my past projects. The interviewer was particularly interested in how I prioritized features and dealt with cross-functional teams.
Onsite Interviews: There were four rounds here.
The first round focused on product sense. I was asked to brainstorm features for a hypothetical new product.
The second round was about product execution. I was given a scenario where a product's key metric was declining and asked how I would address it.
The third was a technical round, which was more about understanding data and making decisions based on metrics.
The final round was a cultural fit interview with a senior leader, discussing Meta's values and how I align with them.
