Interview
HR cold-calls and does the profile verification and lets me know that they are looking for a Data Scientist urgently as part of their Analytics team.
I gave them a set of dates that I would be willing to take the call for the telephonic technical round and henceforth asked them to confirm once they talk to the hiring manager.
No intimation, no email confirmation, no phone call confirmation.
The hiring person went on with the technical round after 2 days.
My technical round too was more or less a cold-call. I did let my interviewer know that there was no intimation regarding this but they just gave a deaf ear to my words and told me that I will get to hear from somebody from their team.
As expected, got the reject mail the following day.
My advice : If the hiring team hasn't sent a confirmation for interview and you still go ahead and make a cold-call for a technical round, yet if somebody puts up a decent show and you reject them, you know you're hiring method is wrong and you better change.

Interview
Note- I was Snapdeal employee at the time of process and Snapdeal was laying off employee at that time. I was not being laid off but searching nevertheless.
I applied via internal referral process(via friend), Hiring Process started within a day after applying.
During my first call with HR, she insisted to come to office next day. I politely refused for that and instead asked for telephonic interview round in order to understand the role. She agreed.
Next day I received the call and the guy walked me through role and responsibilities. Guy asked about my previous projects, I walked him through my resume. He asked me to wait for HR to schedule another round with someone from data science team.
Within days I recieved another call this time guys asked me about my previous projects and basic ML Algorithms ( linear regression, L1, K2, when to use them). Interview was good. He then passed on the feedback to HR and HR then scheduled a third and final round.
During third round I was asked HR type Questions regarding motivation to join and layoff scene at snapdeal. He was satisfied.
For days i didn't receive any call from HR.
After around 2 weeks my friend texted me to ask if I can join at 10% increment. I asked him why company not sending me offer letter and why is he involved in the process. He had no answers. I was stunned at the impotence of Oyo room to directly negotiate with me at this juncture. Such action made my mind to not join Oyo under any circumstances.
I know during layoff other companies don't pay well, that's normal. What's not normal is the company's method to negotiate I.e. using a friend (which is not even in the HR team) to ask, that too without providing offer letter.
Now in the end my friend asked me about my expectations for CTC to which I replied: N/A, not interested in the company.
Later that month i converted two positions with reputed firm at 70% and 90% increment.
I advice not to trust Oyo HR practices as the HR dept is c#.
