I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Thoughtworks (Sídney) in Sep 2021
Interview
After a chat with the recruitment person, an interview was scheduled for having a technical discussion to understand my experience.
Interview was a zoom session because of the lockdown. When the zoom session started, the guy who interviewed me was going to start a pair programming interview. I was surprised as I was not expecting that but said I was still ok to continue.
Then he checked his emails and said, I was correct and it is a tech discussion and not a pair programming interview as he thought.
He only mentioned his name and I don’t know what role he is playing at thought works. He was simply not ready for an interview. I can understand his situation as he was working from home and he had kids.
His was a Java guy and he had no idea about the technologies (.Net and angular) I have worked on except AWS. So he didn’t seem to care about any of those except AWS.
I was actually confused about how the interview went.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Thoughtworks in Aug 2021
Interview
First round - pair programming (one interviewer)
Second round - technical discussion (two interviewer)
Third round - technical discussion (two interviewer)
Rejected in third round as scope is not matched for the current opening
The recruiter shared a GitHub URL prior to the interview. Was expected to study the code and come prepared for the interview.
During interview, the interviewer shared few requirements and asked to choose one. I choose one, and from there on the interviewer asked to make a lot of changes to the code.
Basically the expectation is to refactor the code and not to complete the requirement and come up with output.
The requirements is just a starting point to set the ball rolling.
