Uber Operations Logistics Manager interview questions

Two phone interviews with recruiters, then one phone interview with a team member. 3 in-person interviews in the office: 2 two-on-one's and one 1:1. Each interview focused on a different element Uber was looking for: Analytics, strategy, cultural fit. Interviews were mostly case-based, where the interviewer describes a situation and asks how you would approach the situation. There were not many behavioral questions such as "tell me a time where..." Interviews tended to be one-way interviews. Even though there is time for questions at the end, the interviewers don't describe their Uber experience much.

The position I was interviewing for was in Chennai and I was referred by an employee who is in the same role within the organization. Step 1 was the analytical test. As most of the other reviews mention, you need to be good with excel and quickly understand the expectations from the question. I needed the 2 undisturbed hours completely for me to finish this test and I would suggest the same for anybody taking the test. Uber was amazingly quick (less than 3 days) in letting me know that I had passed the test and qualified for the 2nd round. The second round of interview was with a Launcher in the Uber team and the focus of the interview was mainly to see if I was a viable candidate who can work independently and is confident and diligent enough to launch Uber's services in a city. I felt the expectation from the candidate is to own the role and truly believe that they are working as part of a company, that is changing the way transportation industry works. If you are going to be applying for this role in a specific city, then you MUST know the local language and you WILL be expected to talk to local taxi drivers and commercial license owners in the local language to convince them to use Uber. I was asked to do a role play as to how I will communicate to a potential driver partner in Tamil. The interviewer came across as a person who knew what he was talking about. Overall, a very positive experience that gave me a good peak into the kind of motivation that Uber is looking for. I wish I was better prepared to answer the questions.
