I applied online. I interviewed at Uber (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2019
Interview
Great everyone was very friendly during the process. There was only three interviews and it took about three weeks before I got an offer. I ended up accepting the offer.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Uber (Berlín) in Aug 2019
Interview
Sehr junges Team. Tolles Gespräch mit dem Teamleiter. Die Fragen sind höflich und sehr zielorientiert. Leider wurde aber vor dem Interview und nach dem Interview die Informationen nicht wie versprochen mitgeteilt.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Uber
Interview
Overall a neutral to negative experience. The recruiter didn't come across as genuine and seemed to stick to a script at all costs. They were with an outsourced recruiting firm used by Uber, and I got the impression she knew very little about the role and the local office.
Each conversation we had offered the bare minimum of information and felt rushed. Any questions or explanations I had were nearly cut short by her questioning.
There were mock cold emails and presentations required before the final interview, yet they were never discussed and no feedback was given on those.
Final interview was switched with short notice from an onsite interview to a video conference. Both interviewers lacked hard sales experience and were pretty reserved / unwilling to really divulge any personal experiences, stories, etc.
Finally, I received an offer a few days after the deadline they communicated, at which point they had no willingness to accept any counter offer for what is objectively low pay compared to industry standards.
In sum, it felt pretty clear to me that this team at Uber:
1) Purely wants warm bodies hitting the phones.
2) Thinks it can ride on the coattails of its brand name / size to attract talent without paying them market rate.
This is a shame, because speaking with some acquaintances on both the engineering and marketing teams, I had very good and promising impressions of the company and its trajectory.

Question 1
Say we're launching in a brand new city and you have 1 week to close 20 new accounts. What is your process going to be for getting there?
