Pros

Interesting industry International vibe Travel Work life balance I have worked in various sites of amadeus and even if it has its disadvantages, my comments here are exclusive for the Dallas office (Airline American HQs). It would not be fair to extend this comment to all the sites as in those I have found extremely valuable people and management and in general I think I would still recommend Amadeus as a company to work for (not in Dallas!)

Cons

HR is the most incompetent gang I have found in my entire career Salaries are not competitive Full of bureacracy Mediocre management No career path HR is the most sneaky group of people I have faced in my entire career. They basically trick people from Europe to come here without market references and thereby low wages. As soon as people understand they have been tricked (as I was), they run away given that HR's only answer is going to be: you should have negotiated better. Absolutely useless gang of people that could not care less about employees Management in the Airline side of things (Dallas office) is full of mediocre people that came there either by chance (simply because they were long enough) or pushing all sort of tricky tactics. As a result, we have an office with no direction, managed by people that only take care of positioning themselves properly and full of people that are not motivated and run like headless chickens. In general: - middle management (team leaders) are not suited for the job - Upper management (here I remove the office responsible as I believe she is trying to improve things) is simply full of politics that could not care less about the company or their people's future Needless to say that salaries or benefits are not competitive in the US market (I would say in any market but specially here)

Pros

Good People Nice place to join various clubs and lead a balanced life. Good food at the nearby pub. Compensation is okay, given the skill needed.

Cons

There's some image decoration drive going on at the moment by the Amadeus London HR, that's why you see so many good reviews in a sequence; but if you re-read them reviews with some open mind, you will know they are all superficial. I am working with CM department so can only talk about the CM teams/code/management. The management is doing a good job of keeping the product top of the line in the market, given the amount of confidence they have in the code base or the developers or the release management. But all they do is technical/functional/release management. No emphasis is given towards people management. Another problem is - Just when you thought the regression pass rate is a joke, you come across another joke - In every other team meeting, dept level meetings, and one-to-ones the emphasis is on increasing the regression pass rate, in addition to your day-to-day dev activities. But, when you do it, going extra miles, not letting your timelines impact, it doesn't count towards your performance review. Lastly, I have not seen in my 15 years of C/C++ dev career so far, a company where confidence is so low in their own code base.

Pros

* Pay * Free Food * Decent German Counterparts

Cons

* Micro management for senior level employees as well * Work from home requests are looked at as a criminal activity (I know now there is a change) * No meaningful work in the stream I joined * Lack of support for employees with infants * Either too much of automation or no automation at all
