Pros

- Fantastic product with unbelievable growth potential - Super smart people at every level - Decent free food and drinks available at all times; weekly free breakfast and lunch; regular special events

Cons

- Supposed core value of transparency, but good people disappear with no explanation - Frequent re-orgs cause confusion about roles and workload - A few managers truly don't "get" the value of their best workers. Some of the highest achievers I know are bummed out every day. Some are looking around for a place where they'll be appreciated (or have already left) - "Silo" mentality leads to lack of consistent messaging, duplication of efforts

Pros

- Working hours: I usually come to office before 10 am and leave around 5 pm (the office is usually empty in the morning and after 5pm, besides finance team) - Good salary - Interviewing process was efficient in the last year

Cons

- Talent: Not high hiring bar - Technology: It's not a cloud company when you have barely 1 (maybe 1.5) releases a year and most of the customers are on-prem. Probably better for young developers to explore more innovative working environments - Culture: The culture of any organization is shaped by the worst behavior the leaser is willing to tolerate... and believe me there were @#$% people in the organization who were backed up by management

We're sorry to hear that you feel this way towards our company. Our HR and Office Management team works very hard to ensure that our office culture remains at its best, and our Recruiting team screens candidates multiple times not only for culture fit but also for team fit. Our engineering interviews consist of a panel of 4-8 interviewers who talk, test and discuss expectations with potential candidates. After the interview, the panel syncs up to discuss whether or not the candidate would be a positive addition to the team, and we make an offer based on a group decision. We value transparency, and managers are more than happy to discuss any of your concerns!

Pros

The people at AppDynamics are awesome. I had the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds and people who are trying to innovate, cultivate a great culture, and move fast. Unsure of Cisco's intentions at this point, but if a big company is the place for you then you can work here and coast without a care in the world. Cisco has great perks and benefits, so yay. But don't expect stock as apart of your compensation, that's non-existent for ICs. AppDynamics is aware and working hard towards diversity initiatives. Again, the smartest people trying to do great things. Just hope Cisco doesn't ruin this too.

Cons

Engineering is broken. Release cadence is slow and non-existent. No growth, thank you Cisco. Culture is somewhat in tact, but a year from now it'll be non-existent. The entire recruiting team was laid off and that hurt the culture, interview process, and company outlook. Not sure the intention as neither company is at the same scale.
