Pros

The fellow employees are great to work with and are generally hardworking. Bloomington is a great city to work and live in.

Cons

Not sure where to begin here. First and foremost, the culture is toxic. The employees from most every department (manufacturing, quality, engineering, etc.) are overworked and under-appreciated. Annual raises are a joke, even during a good year for the plant. I received a promotion within my department at only a 1% raise. This was the final straw in motivating me to find a new job. The benefits package in general is weak: vacation time is very limited, health insurance is expensive with very few options, the bonuses are small, and there are no cash rewards for excelling. I saved the company $2 million in 2013, and I was given a card with a cheap pen and water bottle as appreciation. Management is not willing to invest in the facility. There were plenty of equipment failures that could have been prevented if proper care and replacement were made a priority. In addition, procuring the best equipment was to a priority. Most times, the cheapest junk was purchased and the engineer was tasked with making it work in compliance of the regulatory requirements.

Pros

The best thing about working for Baxter was the annual variable pay which was always more than 100% but just like other companies Baxter also started cost cutting and paid very less variable pay this year which was less than 95%. HR here don't do any work and still end up getting 14% hike. And senior manager cuts hikes of his reporters and gets himself a 20% hike! Individual contributors are not valued here and not recognized even after giving the best.

Cons

Bad management, bad HR, in cost cutting mode where birthday celebration was happening every week three years back to not even happening once in a quarter now. They also stopped giving birthday goodie citing non global standards. This company is falling in it's standards and I recommend you to not join if you are joining for IT. Your manager will not even know what you are working on.

Pros

The time I spent with my colleagues was the highlight of my time with this company. Also, the health benefits are good.

Cons

- Every minute of your workday is tracked. They’ll tell you patients/customers come first but then you’ll get dinged for taking breaks late because you were busy assisting patients/customers. - Lack of communication. We were left in the dark with what’s going within our department and the company. - We were always understaffed and expected to meet the same “metrics” of a full team. - Customer service cannot participate in company wide activities/events if they’re during business hours. To my knowledge, we were the only department excluded
