Pros

Gain the possibility of a job as a new graduate Have an opportunity to work for a financial organization Learn beginner level work skills

Cons

Very high risk with extremely low reward Benefits are minimum once placed Once placed work hours are beyond pay in some circumstances No understanding of life and work balance They do not allow you to take time off for emergencies even when you've completed training and not been placed Jobs tend to fall through often Donot allow people to work at your own pace Lack of respect for people An overall negative environment to be in Pay is not near the performance of work done Training staff donot train but more or less "facilitate" You can learn everything taught at home because they're going to tell you to google it anyway. The amount worth of the services are surplussed, it is no where near the amount people can be fined Some of the training mentioned in the contract you won't be learning Came in with no understanding of finance, left with the same understanding

Pros

- A lot of opportunities do open up post your contract - You work with some awesome people who go through the academy with you

Cons

- The contract is pitiful - You get paid such a little and are expected to work overtime without being compensated - The lock in contract fee is $30k which you have to pay if you want to leave the company at any stage - The contract breaking fee does not reduce in a linear way so you will be paying heaps towards the end of your contract - Sales managers force you into placements you don't want even though during hiring process we were explicitly told we still had a choice - Sales managers pretty much ignore you/forget about you once you are placed and they have earned their commission from you - Internal staff at FDM treat you like outsiders and have their own internal club so you never really feel like a part of a company, just another money making asset - During your academy time you get paid $52k then once placed $56k in your first year and $58k in your second - The culture is honestly quite toxic, you never feel comfortable in the office or academy and they have rules that they enforce which reminds me of being a child in primary school. - Rod speaks about how everything is focused on and around the consultants and providing us with opportunity but it really is a thinly veiled attempt to cover up a company who exploits you to pay the top guys handsomely Overall if you can get a start in your career another way or have any other opportunities, I recommend it. If you don't mind suffering for two years to get your foot in the door then FDM is for you.
