A time of change...

Pros

My co-workers are pretty amazing, A company full of history, Global experience for a smaller company, A new CEO who wants to lead the company into this century. I think the vision he has for the company is an exciting one, as long as it all plays out

Cons

There is a lot of change happening within the company and not everyone sees the vision of where we are headed. It's hard to be positive about the future when many want to drag it down. We are getting there, it will just take time.

Hi there! Thanks for your comments. Being a global corporation certainly has its advantages, and Fender will only continue to expand its global presence over time. Like you referenced, global expansion is only one of the changes Fender is currently facing, and as everyone knows change can often be difficult and unsettling. However, with Andy Mooney joining Fender as our new CEO, hopefully some of this ambiguity can be made clear. You are absolutely right. Communication is key, and this is something that Andy has been practicing heavily over his initial 60 days with the organization. Andy has made visits to London, Japan, New York, LA, and both manufacturing facilities in Corona and Ensenada to learn as much as he could about Fender’s business, in order to develop a plan and vision. Upon his return, he began to share a draft of that vision with various departments around the company, and his goal is to share this plan with everyone in the organization over the next few months. By sharing this plan with everyone, individuals who are having a hard time seeing the vision will hopefully gain a clear and positive perspective of where Fender is heading, and understand why these changes are necessary. Like you mentioned, it will take time- but the wait will be worth it!

Robust Benefits

Pros

Robust benefits for the overall size of the organization - which is small. Benefits offered represent feedback from employees, trends in the market, and are competitive with other companies. The path of where the company is going is intriguing and good for the health of the business - and can represent an exciting time for the company and the employees. Continues to be innovative and look for ways to be a strong employer.

Cons

Not enough time-off to be competitive with other companies.

Hi there, thank you for your feedback in regard to the benefits offered at FMIC. Our employees are instrumental to the success of our company, and our goal is to provide affordable and quality benefits that will meet the needs of each employee and their family members. Our benefits team is one of the best. Seriously! Our Benefits Manager won "Benefits Professional of the Year" for her outstanding commitment in getting employees actively involved in both wellness initiatives and retirement programs. By understanding the needs and listening to the wants of our employees, our benefits staff is able to provide rockin' programs that keep everyone happy as well as healthy. For example, we heard that employees were unsatisfied with our time off program. Starting in 2016, we will be changing our tune and offering a bank of PTO rather than the traditional time off system. This will give employees greater flexibility and more freedom to use their personal paid time off however they see fit! This is just one great example of efforts that are being made, but there certainly are areas in which our benefits could improve still. However, the team is working hard to provide a well-rounded, unique, and practical benefits program, and employees will start to see some of these improvements in the upcoming open enrollment!

Pros

Great brand and many passionate people. While many changes are taking place, it's a great opportunity to be part of the evolution of Fender.

Cons

Fender may not be a great fit for someone who wants a very defined role, or doesn't respond to change well.
