      Great until the expenses start to kick in!

      Pros

      Great brand for honesty and integrity. Snoopy. Good visability with the blimp. Good risk management. Great educational capabilities and product education. Reinforces good ethics and compliance.

      Cons

      High expenses. Payouts lowering. Pay to 'play' for everything. Compliance is extremely important in this litigious society; that said, should not be 'sales prevention unit'. Just coming into the next century re: securities and full service financial management. Has it's own parameters for these achievements which reinforce 'favorites' and stifle participation and advancement within. Encouragement of using 'natural market' to start career and then drop you for other 'newbies'.

      Great place to work, Change is hard to come by though

      Pros

      For the most part there are great people at MetLife; plenty of resources for development, through huge on line library of books and courses.

      Cons

      Overly seasoned employees who are resistant to change, meetings lack direction, too many chef's allowed to season the soup or over analyzing every little detail with out understanding the big picture; communication channels are manic with an over communication of social and non work activities, and a total lack of policy and procedure changes.

      Uncapped Commissions, Create your own schedule, In business for yourself, do what you want when you want as long as you can produce

      Cons

      Pay structure is very complicated, pay is completely based on performance after financing is over, commission driven financial advice given to clients
