Pros

The health benefits were phenomenal, and I highly doubt any other GC has a better offering. The Denver office is beautiful and there are lots of social and volunteer opportunities.

Cons

Expect to work long hours and be very undercompensated regardless if you are in the field or the office.

Our great benefits and culture really are just a few things that make PCL a great place to work! As part of our total rewards package, we make sure to do annual research on compensation to ensure employees are rewarded fairly based on their region. Construction is a challenging industry, and we appreciate your hard work and flexibility.

Pros

PCL had good benefits and healthcare coverage.

Cons

PCL Construction is a good old boys club. This is the only place many employees have worked. The lack of leadership in the Denver District's Business Development and Marketing department was astonishing, starting at the top. The unethical and appalling actions that District Managers, USHO, and HR looked away from was shocking. Senior "leadership" routinely falsified expense reports of more than $60,000, gave gifts to government and elected officials exceeding the gift limit violating PCL's rules of doing business with government employees. PCL funded multiple international trips for business development with government officials to win government contracts. Falsifying PCL employees on RFPs to win government work. Spent tens of thousands of dollars of PCL's money for a truck and tractor pull in numerous years for personal gain. Opened a new office for personal gain without USHO's knowledge. Inappropriate relationship with direct report, and promoting direct report. I'm shocked by the unethical behavior as witnessed by multiple employees. HR looked the other way, nothing was done for years. Business Development was making NOTHING happen.
