Pros

I worked in the Pharmacy, so it was different for me. Being a Pharmacy Technician, there is little for advancement, but the pay was competative, and my supervisors were great. The days go by very fast because you are busy from the time you get there until the time you leave, helping customers, being on the phone, filling prescriptions, etc. Wal-mart is a stable company, and as long as you can take the fast pace of retail pharmacy, it's a great place to work. The pay and benefits are competetive, for pharmacy. I do not know about the rest of the store because I only worked in the pharmacy.

Cons

In the pharmacy, little room for advancement when a Pharmacy Technician. It is always extremely busy, and can be very hectic, and nerve wrecking. Retail pharmacy can be that way, of course, but anyone applying to work in the pharmacy should be ready for that. On the up side, the day does go by extremely fast. You will also be on your feet all day long, but you will get breaks, and, of course, a break for lunch. I was always treated great by my supervisors in the pharmacy. The Pharmacists worked just as hard as the technicians did everyday.

Pros

Wal-Mart at the Homeoffice is very family-oriented and the company tries its best to take care of it's associates and be a responsible corporate citizen. Wal-Mart is such a huge corporation that you can have several different careers within Wal-Mart. Also, the culture is outstanding.

Cons

Since I work at the homeoffice, I would say that some people aren't interested in moving to Bentonville, AR to work. I personally don't see it as a negative because the area is quite nice, but some young single folks aren't thrilled when they get here.

Pros

The convenience of being able to work, attend school and be a mother. There are not alot of places to work in a small town. They let me work only part-time which is all I can do being a full time student and mother of a preschool age child. The bonuses and profit sharing are nice. They could do a little more for their employees around the holidays, many employees do not recieve anything. I feel that walmart could let their employees know a little more that we are the ones that make the difference. If a person wants to come to work then they will do a much better job than someone who doesn't.

Cons

The managemnet team is not very professional. The wages and benefits are not good. I feel that at my particular walmart it depends on who you are if you can advance in the company. If you do not follow the right ones you will never advance. To me this something that needs to be looked into. I have personally dealt with managemtn not having respect for their employees also and feel this is something that makes a huge impact on the type of business you ahve in your community.
