The Calibration Engineer is responsible for:
Developing and implementing best practice calibration solutions and performing diagnostic verification testing.
Manage all technical aspects of the calibrations to meet all regulatory requirements, identify system requirements during system hardware design to insure a robust diagnostic system, and use standard instrumentation toolsets for data acquisition, storage, and analysis.
They will calibrate diagnostic thresholds to meet regulations, develop and track calibration solutions that meet system functional objectives, identify system requirements during system hardware design to insure a robust diagnostic system.
Utilizing a multi-functional tool chain, requiring familiarity with; Stellantis in-house developed calibration tools - DC Plot & HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testers, CDA, PowerCal.
Industry standard calibration tools (ETAS INCA, MDA, MatLab, Simulink, CANalyzer)
Provide regular overview summaries and detailed reports on specific assignments, including timing projections.
The candidate should expect to travel 4 - 8 weeks throughout the year for system validation/verification.
Requirements:
Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Master of Science in Computer Science or Mechatronics from an ABET accredited university
3+ years of experience in engine development, powertrain systems development /engine calibration /control systems development / diagnostics / electronics within the automotive industry
Hardware in the loop development /verification
Calibration process knowledge using design of experiments and advanced optimization techniques
Understanding of emissions & safety regulatory requirements
Proficient in advanced simulation tools
Proficient in MatLab / Simulink
Knowledge/Understanding of CAN Communication protocols
