The Junior Underwriter will participate in a comprehensive training program designed to develop the skills necessary for a successful career in mortgage underwriting. This role is focused on Business DSCR loans and is an excellent opportunity for professionals with U.S. mortgage industry experience who are looking to transition into an underwriting role. The Junior Underwriter will learn to evaluate mortgage loan applications, assess risk, and determine creditworthiness under the guidance of a Team Lead and senior underwriters. This position is key to expanding the company's underwriting capabilities in our Mazatlan office.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively participate in and complete the junior underwriter training program.
• Learn to review and analyze loan applications, credit reports, income documentation, and other financial materials for Business DSCR loans.
• Assist senior underwriters in assessing borrower risk to ensure alignment with the company's underwriting guidelines.
• Learn to identify and address any red flags or inconsistencies in borrower documentation.
• Work closely with the Team Lead to clear conditions and prepare files for final review.
• Collaborate with senior underwriters and other team members to understand and apply lending guidelines and internal policies.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in loan files.

Requirements Experience:

• Previous experience in the U.S. mortgage industry is highly preferred (e.g., loan processor, closer).
• No prior underwriting experience is required.

Technical Knowledge:

• Familiarity with mortgage loan documents and terminology is a plus.
• Proficiency in using basic computer applications.

Performance Goals

• Completeully complete all stages of the junior underwriter training program within the specified timeframe.
• Begin reviewing loan files with a second-level review by the second month.

• Maintain open and clear communication with the Team Lead and other team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18,000.00 per month
