While Glassdoor is often known for its company reviews and employer opportunities, it’s increasingly a place where people turn to find open jobs. In fact, Glassdoor is now the fastest growing jobs site in the U.S.,[1] and 86% of Glassdoor users are either actively looking for jobs or would consider taking a new job if they saw a better opportunity[2]. But where do we see the highest concentration of active job seekers? We took a look at our jobs database to find out where job seekers are most active in order to identify this summer’s Hottest Cities for Hiring.

This summer’s Hottest Cities for Hiring are: 1. New York, New York Why it made the list: The “Big Apple” is at the core of the United States’ national and international financial services industry. It’s also home to the largest collection of printing plants in the United States[3]. With over 2.8M[4] job searches each week, it’s no wonder New York is buzzing with opportunities for eager candidates. 2. Los Angeles, California Why it made the list: Often called “The Entertainment Capital of the World”, Los Angeles is the largest manufacturing center[5] in the United States, with plants for everything from apparel, computer and electronics, to fabricated metal and food. Additionally, Los Angeles is home to the largest retail market in the United States. With more than 1.7M job searches each week, Los Angeles is bustling with active job seekers looking to make it big beneath the famous Hollywood sign. 3. San Francisco, California Why it made the list: San Francisco has long been a hub for trade and shipping, but most recently, San Francisco and neighboring Silicon Valley have become the precipice of technological innovation. “Fog City” is an important part of the health care, biomedical and non-profit service industry as well, employing over 20% of the city’s workers[6].
