Can anyone explain to me why a manager will hire you and then when you start they don’t even acknowledge your presence but have no problem acknowledging or interacting with other people?

I want to ask my cousin for a referral for their company, but I'm wondering if doing this will come off as rude? We don't talk. We see each other briefly at a family gathering every other Christmas. So, we speak less than 10 words to each other every two years. I do send him a happy birthday message on Facebook most years.

Okay so when I'm looking for people to refer me online or on LinkedIn, how do I know who to ask? Should I be looking for managers or just any employee?

Are there any referral network groups that anyone would suggest? I have tapped out my personal network and all my inmails and LinkedIn searches
