I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Dublín, Dublín) in Apr 2023
Interview
Was brought in for a group interview and "speed chat" with one of the three store managers present on the day.
We arrived at 10 and left by 11:30.
There were a total of approx 26 people in for assessment.
The area manager and store managers gave an intro about them selves and we were all asked to introduce ourselves in turn.
We were given a group task to complete ( explanation+ 5 Min individual review+ 15 Min group discussion + 5 min to present to groups) and as the group taks was going on at the same time we spoke individually to the store manager for 2/3 min
Day concluded with area manager giving the solution to group taks and explaining more about job role / Pay / hols / probation etc.
24hr later got email rejecting me .
Having spent years hiring for sales roles I cannot phantom how any skills or capabilities were actually observed in this context as only area manager observed the group exercises spreading herself access the 3 groups.
I had to go to Poole, it took me 3 hours back and forth (by bus and walk). The area manager was nice, it took about 5-10 minutes. I had a feeling they really need people, he even told me, he cannot see I would be unsuccessful. Same feeling was on Aldi Experience in Boscombe, it took 30 minutes but they kept saying how they need more people, they were happy with my experience, that I live near the store, I am dully flexible, fully available... 8 days later, they sent me an email, I was not successful. They just lied to me. So upset.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- Tell me a little bit about yourself, - Previous experience
I interviewed at ALDI (Royal Wootton Bassett, England)
Interview
It was a good process that had been considered thoroughly and slick in operation. I would recommend that candidates prepare for basic interview questions published widely online - none of the questions are groundbreaking, but you need have an actual desire to work for the company.
