The Initial interview was standard. There were no questions out of the ordinary. The follow-up was casual. We went to lunch. It was more of a personality and etiquette test.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The questions were standard. The "social lunch" was more difficult for me. Perhaps some cultural differences. But they were very kind people.
1. Phone
2. Group
3. District Manager
4. Physical Test
I don't remember the order but this was along the lines of it. I did apply 4 times and finally made it to the interview process. I want to say all up it took about 2 weeks give or take.
I applied online. I interviewed at ALDI (Northfield, England) in Aug 2025
Interview
Process took 4 weeks. You first get asked to complete a video interview basically asking the same questions from the initial application. This is just you recording your answer to three questions: What interests you about working for ALDI?, What skills and attributes could you bring to the role? and Give an example of a time you provided excellent customer service. You get a minute to answer each question but have as long as you want to prepare. Around a week after this I got invited to an Individual Assessment which wouldn’t take place until another two weeks later. This may differ from location to location but the assessment was just a meeting with the store manager and area manager. I was asked about myself and my employment history, really just getting to know me personally rather than professionally. I got my rejection email the next day but according to some employees, the next steps after this is just a store walkthrough/tour and then contract signing. Overall a positive experience but took ages.
