Interview was generally okay. 2 technical interviews followed by a culture fit interview at the end. - Questions are fairly standard LeetCode questions. - Interviewers are friendly and knowledgeable in the technical field. Before interviewing - Agoda should disclose openly the salary packages expected for particular roles to avoid unexpected interview processes that end with a rejection/mis-alignment. Most of their roles do not openly disclose the salary bracket - leading to a lot of time wasted for both the interviewer and interviewee, which is something I found particularly very unfortunate. If you are applying: Expect very low salary offers for international applicants for senior roles: Agoda is a company that markets itself as world class, but the salary offers for the Bangkok office would not work for you if you plan to relocate with a family. What they refer to as "competitive" - is actually very low considering that you might also be planning to invest back home/save some of your income. This misalignment happens because - as an applicant, you will often assume that they are a big company and will remunerate you well - so you go through the interview without much worry, but you end up getting disappointed at the end. If applying for a senior level role - your skills might be well remunerated elsewhere unless you are willing to get a pay cut and still relocate. Otherwise, you might as well prepare yourself for a rejection after they ask you the salary range you expect. I have also seen the exact same sentiments in the comments and I am really surprised that the company does not want to make any changes to make life easier for themselves and the candidate. They do state that openness is one of the values in their culture - but seems they do not follow their own values at the onset which might be a red flag already.

Question 1
- Multi-threading questions - Array sorting and algorithms - General questions on architecture - Culture fit and productivity questions
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Agoda (Vancouver, BC) in Feb 2023
Interview
I saw an opening for titled Vancouver, Canada (relocation to Bangkok). It was mentioned about "competitive salary". Agoda being good company, I was interested in it. After the performing well in the interview for 2 rounds. I had to wait for 2 weeks to get the response. In the 3rd week after the interview process, I was informed the competitive salary was not actually competitive, it was 1/5th of my current salary. (though the levels.fyi showed the other way). As Bangkok was cheaper than Vancouver I was ready to have a paycut but this much. A suggestion, Agoda should ask upfront about the expectations and what they can provide instead of wasting candidates and interviewers time. If you are from US or Canada, Please ask about the salary expectation before. It will save around 5 weeks and some energy.
