I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Dec 2020
Interview
The recruiter was absent and pretty unhelpful. I had to ask him multiple times for updates and usually a different recruiter would answer my emails. After the second interview, the recruiter told me that they liked me but that I wasn’t a technical fit for Amazon and told me to find other jobs on the website that I was interested in. I did this but the recruiter was unhelpful as he did not specify which jobs they thought I’d be best for. I gave up after sending him 5 different jobs which he told me I wasn’t the right fit for and withdrew my application as it started to feel like a waste of my time.
The overall interviews were very difficult, not because the topics were challenging, but because they put me in situations that were unnecessarily stressful and/or unclear.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
First interview: They asked me to solve 8 sql coding questions via live code in 15 minutes. This was very hard because 15 minutes was not enough time at all. After, they asked me to walk them through how I’d gather requirements for a project
Second interview: asked me leadership principal questions and one sql coding question. The sql question was hard because the interviewer was not clear on what they wanted the end table to be.
