I applied for the position online. I was supposed to have a phone interview, but no one ever called. Upon emailing to find out what happened, I was instructed to re-schedule online on a Google Doc. I did this and when the time came to interview again, the interview was cancelled. A few days later I received an email saying I was invited to the Amazon campus to interview in person. This was a final round interview that I magically ended up in. I was told that there would be 2 interviews and a decision would be made.
24 hours before the interview I was sent a writing assessment in which I had to recommend certain promotions while keeping profit and inventory constraints in mind. I completed the assessment and the next day I showed up to the interview and was informed that there would be 3 interviews that day. In the first interview I was grilled on the assumptions that I made in my writing assessment. I was asked to do calculations on the whiteboard in the room. Other than this, there were only really behavioral questions. The 2nd interviewer asked me if I knew what NPV is and had me write the formula for it.
I received a phone call 45 minutes after I left Amazon. The caller was an HR representative offering me the job. They offered me $3500 a month for 6 months. I declined as I had other options on the table that fit my background a little better.
