I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Singapur) in Jan 2018
Interview
I applied online through their online system and got an invitation for an interview with the hiring manager. The organization was really smooth and the first interview went very well : great communication with the hiring manager. At the end of the interview he let me know that he wanted me to talk with the head of the department because he thought I will be great fit for the position.
4 days later I got an email from the coordinator asking me for my availibilities in the two next weeks which I provided. I was quite available except two days in two weeks during which I was flying.
The coordinator managed to set an interview without asking my confirmation on one of the day I wasn't available, saying that the interviewer was busy the other days ( and believe me I was free 8 days out of 10 and almost all the time )
So I replied that I wasn't available on this day because I was flying so we could find another time, if she needed more available days later on I will provide as well.
She asked me to provide more days which I did again and managed to pick a time I said i wasn't free saying that my time slots weren't fitting the interviewer's one.
I got a bit confused because the purpose of giving availibilities is to find something that works for everyone...
So I said again that as I highlighted before I am just not free on this time...and she replied to me that it is already the 3rd time we are rescheduling making me feel that I am doing something wrong...
The last attempt worked out ...luckily...I got on a call with the head of the department, after having waited for 15min as he was late, the call was of super poor quality getting disconnected from their bridge and it was highly frustrating. The first thing he managed to tell me was that he has been doing too much interviews so he has no more voice...what a great way to start an interview
It lasted about 1 hour after this he told me that the coordinator will be in touch later on which she did to tell me it won't work out
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Amazon
