I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Amazon (München, Bavaria) in Nov 2020
Interview
The interview was not at a professional level and it seems to me that the company lost control of quality.
First of all, the interviewer was late and the connection while using amazon's software was terrible.
It also seems to me that the interviewer not really read my resume. For example, the position was based in Munich and required speaking German. My Profile statement as a header on my resume stated clearly that I am fluent in this language as well as the language section. Regardless of this information, the recruiter asked if I am aware that the position is in a German-speaking country and how my language skills are.
It seems to me on more than one occasion that Amazon recruiters are not able to listen actively (lack of language skills?) and simply work through a standardized question block without showing interest in the candidate.
The recruiter was rushing through the department duties that I had the feeling she MUST say these things but not really care about. I missed a lack of compassion.
Amazon is such a huge company with a great reputation but I was shocked how it is like to have an interview there. I felt not respected in my time and effort to apply and wished I had known this before.
I withdraw my application and won't apply for Amazon again.
