The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Aug 2023
Interview
"The interview process started with an online application, followed by a coding assessment on platforms like HackerRank or Codility. After passing that, I had a phone screen with a recruiter, which mostly covered my resume and availability. The next stage was a technical phone interview with a software engineer where I solved data structures and algorithms problems live. Finally, there was a virtual onsite with multiple back-to-back rounds—two technical interviews, a system design round, and a behavioral interview based on Amazon’s Leadership Principles. The entire process took about 3-4 weeks.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
In one of the technical rounds, they asked me to implement an LRU (Least Recently Used) Cache from scratch, and we discussed time complexity trade-offs. During the behavioral round, they asked me to 'Tell me about a time you disagreed with a team decision and how you handled it,' which tied directly to their 'Have Backbone; Disagree and Commit' principle.
