I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Charlotte, NC) in Jul 2015
Interview
Bad attitude from Interviewer . The job description had mentioned SAS skill-set, but the interviewer said they use it less that 1% of the time . The interviewer rather getting to know me, showcased his knowledge about the business (which obviously will be high since he works for them ).
I wish Amazon stopped asking some 20 year olds to interview, the interviewer had no pragmatic vision and was a total jerk.
Please stop wasting your time for this position.

I applied through other source. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Amazon (Londres, Inglaterra) in Feb 2015
Interview
2 telephone interviews for 1st and 2nd stage, 5 back-to-back face-to-face interviews on site with 7 interviewers - whole process took about four months.
Should've listened to the reviews placed on glassdoor. Spent umpteen emails trying to guage a base or even a salary range to ensure I wasn't wasting mine nor the company's time. When the first offer came in below the range that was originally given to me it was a real disappointment. Second offer was also low but I was told they'd look internally for more suitable positions in the meantime and given the weekend as a timeframe to come back to me. I took the same window of opportunity to respond with an answer, however, the offer was retracted before I had a chance to respond.
Overall, the interview process was pretty good - whilst a little draining, both physically and mentally, was good to meet and speak to people from the within the team as well as internal stakeholders. I enjoyed the process! Unfortunately, it was a great shame about the offer. The amount of time, energy and cost wasted could have been avoided by being open and up front from the start.

Question 1
Competency based questions relating to past experience - tell me about a time when... etcetera.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (München, Bavaria) in Apr 2015
Interview
I had a phone interview with a recruiter, and a week later another phone interview with the hiring manager.
They send you prior to the interview some instructions about the structure of the interview (STAR structure). It was pretty easy in both phases, and the interviewers stuck to job related questions and to the company's leadership principles.
I wasn't selected for the job, which I discovered by looking at my online profile. Before checking my profile at amazon careers (I had forgotten that I had one) I had sent 2 emails about any feedback on the last interview, and I never got any response. I think it would have been decent at least to receive a notifying email, at the end both parties dedicated their time to the interviewing process.
