I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Amazon in Jun 2017
Interview
A technical recruiter reached out to me wanting to speak with me about my background and my intentions for applying for the new position. We scheduled a half an hour to an hour phone interview to talk about the role and my professional experience and I thought it went very well.
She then followed up with an email to have an HR coordinator schedule a technical phone interview with a team member. The interview was relatively easy, no complicated questions. They wanted to hear my background in testing and what tools I used. The second half was mainly all programming language ability which is very unrelated to the position because the position wasn't a Test Automation engineer, however that seemed to be the driving factor of the technical interview. After struggling with some code writing, I was thanked for my time and they'll reach out to the HR to provide feedback to them then reach out to me for next step.
Immediately the next week, I was contacted by the HR coordinator and told me that after careful consideration they decided not to continue with the interviewing process for this role. When asked why or how or what happened, I received a reply saying that the company's policy doesn't allow to provide feedback.
