Was not expecting Amazon to be so unprofessional and disorganized. More than a month after applying for a position there, I received an email from HR to schedule an interview. Interview #1 was scheduled for the next week (Thursday). I thought interview would be with HR, but it was with someone on the team. No one ever bothered to tell me, I only know because I looked up the name of the person they said I was going to speak to. The interviewer was great, and that was a good experience.
The NEXT DAY after interview #1 (Friday), received email to schedule interview #2 with the hiring manager. The next working day (Monday) received confirmation of interview #2, scheduled in two days (Wednesday). Great, right? Except that Tuesday afternoon, I received an email from a completely different person in HR, cancelling interview #2 with the hiring manager because the job was filled. Meaning that they more than likely offered a job to a candidate before I had interview #1. This email did not mention the title of the position, so I emailed that person back to confirm that it was definitely the role I'd applied for, and they'd not made an error emailing me. NO REPLY. How RUDE and unprofessional. (And I never had any conversation with HR except for the emails to schedule interviews. ) This is definitely not the experience I expected with Amazon. Mind you, I'm not fussed I didn't get the job, good on whoever got the "opportunity". What I don't like is the complete waste of my time, obvious disorganization and lack of transparency over the process. This is probably a good thing, foreshadowing what my experience would be like working there.
