Question 1
How did you solve a major problem in your last job?
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Bank of America (Brea, CA) in Dec 2009
Interview
I submitted an application online and included my resume and cover letter in mid November. Around Mid December I received a random call from the company inviting me to a job fair they were having for a chance to interview for the position I had applied for. At this point, I was shocked to hear from them since my application went basically ignored for almost 30 days but I was happy to even have the chance at the position so I showed up. The location was one of their corporate centers and the job fair had about 400-500 people all trying to interview for what I later found out to be just 30 positions. I showed up a few minutes earlier than the start time of the 4 hour event filled out a hand-written application that I added my resume and cover letter to. This just mainly asked broad questions (Name, DOB, Expected Salary, and so on). I turned in my paperwork and sat and waited and I was not seen until nearly the end of the event 4 hours later. I was called up, and I was informed that after taking a quick look at my paperwork that an entry level customer service job would like me suit me better, I was told they had openings and I can apply for that if I would like. I kindly explained that I would rather apply for the job I was there for, she called me back about 10 minutes after that and asked a series of questions about my experience and gave me a very quick overview of the job and asked if that sounded good. I agree and about 5 minutes later I was done and walking to my car to await the dreaded "call". Thankfully it came quickly (within a couple of days) and they informed me that they would like to call me back for a second interview with a manager in that department. The interview was much more in depth in that the questions weren't so much the generic interview questions (Tell amount a time when..), but more specifically situational (If you have two people asking for this, making this much, with these assets, the only difference is this, which do you choose and why). After 4 or 5 of those types of questions followed by a few more about my current duties and future expectations, I was rescheduled for a third interview with the VP of the department. They tried to get me over to see him right then but he was busy. This final interview was simply a recap of the other two along with the discussion of Salary. After verbally accepting the position i was escorted down to HR and was given my official offer where I signed on the dotted line.
