1. Applied online.
2. A few days later I received a coding challenge:
given 5 days to complete, untimed.
3. After that I was asked to come in for a final round interview:
4 rounds of interviews (1-on-1, 30 min each. Mix of behavioral/technical)
I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at BlackRock (New York, NY) in Dec 2017
Interview
Met a team member at a recruiting event. Phone screen a week later focusing on technical aptitude. Second phone screen with engineer to test culture. Brought on site to go through a fairly standard technical interview with focus on database topics and OOP

Interview
Started with an online programming assessment hosted on Hirevue. 3 questions to be completed in about 90 minutes. There wasn't a timer though, it was just stated in the email invitation.
Problems involved basic financial calculations (interest rates, return on investment...) and parsing through financial data (Java split, regex functions were useful for instance) and doing some calculations on that data.
Heard back 4 months later.
