I applied in-person. I interviewed at Boeing (Kent, WA) in Apr 2010
Interview
The interviews are done using the formal interview process. All the questions are behavioral questions. There were no technical coding questions. They read off a predefined set of questions. Paneled interview with 3-5 people for about 2 hours. There are two managers one from a different team, one technical lead and an engineer.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Boeing
Interview
I was in a special recruiting initiative and subsequently only had 1 in-person behavioral interview. There were 5 questions that required a STAR answer. The questions involved describing a technical project and a difficulty you had with someone you worked with.

Question 1
Describe a technical project you worked on in detail. What was the situation, the task, the actions you took, and the result?
Usually contact begins with an email from the hiring manager saying that you have been selected for an interview. The interviews will be a panel interview with at least 3 "diverse" interviewers. There usually are 6-8 questions that are asked--it's a very structured interview. Interviewers take turns asking the interviewee multi-part questions (for example "explain a time where ____ happened? What was your reaction? How did this affect your work?"). Each candidate is asked the exact same questions for the sake of fairness. Usually there is only the one interview, and you will be called if you are selected.

Question 1
I was asked a question about why diversity is important and how I bring appreciation of diversity into the workplace. That question caught me off-guard!
