I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at CGI (Helsinki, Finlandia Meridional) in Mar 2023
Interview
I was contacted by the company on LinkedIn and the first meeting was arranged. During the meeting I met with the head of the unit, to which I was attracted and of their senior architects. In the first meeting I was generally introduced to the company and unit by the head; the architect was asking about the projects that I have worked in, technologies that I have been using, my general and career interests. My salary wish was also asked in that meeting. After the first meeting a technical interview was arranged. In the technical interview I was asked questions about Java, JavaScript, System Engineering, and Software Architecture. Technical interview meeting was very good: the person prepared well and questions were adequate - it was clear that they knew whom they needed and what hard and soft skills the suitable candidate should have. Finally, a meeting with the same unit's head was organized, where salary wish was asked again. This followed by the contract of proposal. In overall, very smooth interview process, without irrelevant elements. Company showed their maturity in understanding what and who is needed, and how to check that a given interviewed person suits them or not. Even though the salary was discussed 2 times, the offered contract was lower than expected, and company did not want to level it to the initial request. Their argument sounded baseless, and I was left with an impression that company was simply greedy.
