I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Capital One (Richmond, VA) in Sep 2010
Interview
First I was contacted by an HR representative by telephone. He was very cordial and explained that they thought I was a good candidate for the position, and that they would like me to complete a telephone interview, some online forms for basic information, and an online personality assessment.
After taking most of the questionnaires, I was told that I was highly competitive and would now complete my personality assessment. It seemed identical to the Myers-Brigg type tests. Afterward, the same rep called and told me that they were no longer moving forward with my application. I was not very upset about this, and I asked if he was authorized to explain the types of personalities that they would normally accept. He said that it didn't necessarily have anything to do with my personality, but it was clear that this was why I was not asked in for a personal interview.
At the time I had a friend working for Capital One, who told me that each employee has their personality information available at their desks, and that managers will occasionally come and look over it before speaking to you. A bit strange, but perhaps an effective management tool.
1 online assessment followed by Power Day with 1 product and 2 cases. Power Day was quite tricky with concepts being combined and tested in different forms. Staying calm and taking in every word is crucial in keeping up with the casing.

I thought I did really well, but they emailed me back in a few hours, rejecting me. This was for the online test before the power day, and they didn't even give me a score.
