Initial recruiter call to talk about my background and experience/for them to talk about the position, then I was sent a code signal assessment. 4 questions in 70 minutes, but if you skip question 3 and answer 1,2, and 4 correctly, you'll still pass. After that was the powerday (final round), which was 2 technical interviews, a behavioral interview, and a case interview.
I applied online. I interviewed at Capital One (Toronto, ON) in May 2026
Interview
An HR Screen with Talent Associate, then a 1-hour technical interview with the team lead, and finally a 1-hour behavioral interview with the hiring manager. Use the STAR method in your behavioral and make sure to not be afraid and throw ideas out during the technical interview.
Very consistent and streamlined. The highlight was a 'Power Day' a single afternoon of consecutive interviews with engineers. The overall hiring timeline was very long asked about technical skills, system design, and cultural fit.
Initial screening was a codesignal OA. Next round was the final round. It consisted of a systems design question and a behavioural interview. Overall, the interview process was nice and simple.
