I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (McLean, VA) in Feb 2016
Interview
I arrived at their Mclean office at 11:30. Waited about 10 minutes, two employee came and took us to lunch. It supposed to show us a room to store our belongs. But instead lunch first. The lunch ended at 1:00 pm. We were assigned to a different room. There are three rounds interviews. First round is called job fit(technique problems). Second round is called case interview and then behavioral interview.
I applied online. I interviewed at Capital One (Toronto, ON) in May 2026
Interview
An HR Screen with Talent Associate, then a 1-hour technical interview with the team lead, and finally a 1-hour behavioral interview with the hiring manager. Use the STAR method in your behavioral and make sure to not be afraid and throw ideas out during the technical interview.
Very consistent and streamlined. The highlight was a 'Power Day' a single afternoon of consecutive interviews with engineers. The overall hiring timeline was very long asked about technical skills, system design, and cultural fit.
Initial screening was a codesignal OA. Next round was the final round. It consisted of a systems design question and a behavioural interview. Overall, the interview process was nice and simple.
