I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Chubb (Bengaluru) in Dec 2021
Interview
The application process started with a direct call from the recruitment team. The entire process took 2 weeks.
Interview
The process involves below rounds, each of which was an elimination round:
1. HackerRank coding test (60mins)
2. L1 Technical - Technical fundamentals. Panel - Technical team
3. L2 Bar Raiser - Panel - Director
4. L3 Managerial - Fitment to culture and team
5. HR discussion
L1 (average experience) panelist was probably not much experienced and was taking assistance from google to ask questions. The panelist didn't seem to be comprehensive in his technical skills during the interview.
L2 (good experience) was a great experience, the person was a director in the US and had a fair mode of evaluation.
L3 (good experience) was the project lead from the Indian team, discussed some technical topics, and also shared the expectations from the role.
L4 (worst experience) It wasn't an interview or discussion, but was an interrogation. HR was a senior perosn, and was in some sort of hurry, as he was too quick to conclude based on my half-said statements rather than allowing me to complete and then comprehend. During the entire discussion, there was a lack of trust from HR in me which I can feel and I was expected to justify my every single comment (at some point during the interview, I even had to share my screen to show proof to justify my comments).
In my entire career of 11+ years, this was probably one of the worst HR discussions I ever had.
That's the sole reason why I didn't even re-considered the offer or shown further interest for the oppourtunity and declined.
Advise to Chubb:
Please note, while you're evaluating a candidate for a position, we as a candidate, are also evaluating our future employer during all these discussions. HRs are the mascots of a company's culture and such experiences share more about the prevailing culture within the organization.
