I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Chubb (Los Angeles, CA)
Interview
Recruiter reached out to me regarding a potential position. I wasn’t looking at the time, but the position was a bit different and interested me. I had 3 additional interviews with the hiring manager, VP, and regional HR contact all on the phone. Went well but ultimately didn’t get the job. But I received great feedback and was told they would keep my information for any other positions that were to open up. Was eventually offered to apply for another job shortly after that felt my background was better suited. Went through the same routine with the exception of the HR contact but was virtual this time. Waited and waited to hear back from the recruiter. Both times, I had to reach out multiple times to the recruiter who contacted me. The second time, after nearly a month and 2 follow ups via email and once via VM to the recruiter, he told me that they went with someone internally. The only part that frustrated me about this entire process, and why I would never speak with anyone from this company about another potential opportunity, is because of the recruiter. His lack of response with getting any sort of follow up was concerning. I have never had such a terrible interaction with getting an indication of what was happening from someone that had reached out to me with a potential opportunity.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you overcame an objective from an agent
My interview with Chubb gave me a strong understanding of both the company’s culture and the expectations of the underwriting role.
We discussed how Chubb operates as a global leader in insurance, with a strong emphasis on risk assessment, client relationships, and long-term financial stability. The team highlighted that underwriting at Chubb is not just technical, but also relationship-driven. Success in the role requires analytical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to balance risk with business opportunity.
3 interviews in total - 1 screening and 2 in-person. Not very technical. Salary for a first-time position is great (associate role). 30-minute interview. 2-3 people will be attending the meeting alongside you.
Multiple Interview process that starts with internal recruiting phone screening. Expect at least 3 different interviews with different levels of management. Be ready for both technical and personality questions to really dive into who you are.
