      Mechanical Engineer Intern Interview

      Nov 15, 2010
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Jose, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Cisco (San Jose, CA) in Oct 2010

      Interview

My interviews were with two technical leaders on separate days. My first interview was to get to know my personality. The odd thing was that I was not asked any technical or behavioral questions. Nor anything about resume. I found this interviewing format difficult due to the lack of structure. During this 30 minute period I spoke about my skills and inquired about the major project at hand. The second interview I was given 3 critical analysis questions. Each seemed simple at first glance. It required you state all your assumptions and identify the boundary conditions. However there are several places along the thought process that will cause you overlook key steps in finding the solution.
