I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Costco Wholesale (Issaquah, WA) in Jan 2022
Interview
Terrible from start to finish and not the only one I have had at this point.
Took nearly 2 months following the last interview with ZERO to minor communication from the recruiting and hiring teams.
I currently know someone who works in IT at Costco and tells me its a total mess right now from poor pay, limited WFH and miss-matched direction from upper management in trying to hire and retain employees.
People are interviewing, then getting silence for a month or two before hearing back and most have already accepted jobs elsewhere. It pretty obvious why they can't fill roles.
I had one of these interviews actually change it's requirements after going through 2 interviews, to then be told I was no longer qualified because it changed. Not going to bother applying to this sinking ship anymore when it's a total waste of time. Par for the course for Costco.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Behavior questions, such as "tell me about a time when.."
Technical questions regarding the position and specific to the development languages being used (in this case, Java, JavaScript, SQL)
Coding a problem in front of interviewers
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Costco Wholesale in Sep 2021
Interview
Had two rounds of technical interview and one managerial interview and cleared all those rounds. Process was smooth until final round.
In final round the senior level leadership members came with all non-technical interview questions. mostly negative scenario questions like
*what if conflict happens with manager.
*what if system fails in PRD
I gave pretty honest, straight forward answers as a team player, and achieving the common goal of deliverables with optimized solution.
They pretty much think themselves as a psychiatrist and the interviewee as a patient.
