I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Costco Wholesale (Commack, NY) in Jul 2014
Interview
There was an initial phone call to set up the interview, which occurred later that same day. I was interviewed by a front end manager and a produce manager. They were very professional, seemingly reading from a Human Resources script, but that is how Corporate interviews are conducted. I was very impressed with the front end manager; she seemed to really know what to do, how to do things, how to speak to people without sounding phony. The produce manager impressed as a "newbie" to the process so I perceived he may have been in training on how to conduct interviews. Overall, the interview process, which was considered the first and second interview combined, was easy although it did take place at an extremely disgustingly messy table in the food court.

Question 1
I honestly don't recall any question being difficult or unexpected. I suppose there could be such issues with someone who does not have much interview experience of this type, meaning very corporate in nature.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Costco Wholesale in May 2026
Interview
Three rounds of interviews. If you're lucky, you'll do two rounds because two managers in the room are two interviews. Then the final interview is with the warehouse manager. Be on time; I cannot stress that enough, as Costco is a very time-sensitive type of position. You only have a three-minute grace period to clock in at your normal hours. Emphasize that you are very prompt and are ready to work through the probation period.

What was a urgent problem you had to face and what was the result?
3 different interviews with different managers process took a while but actual interviews were quick and easy. Did have to call and follow up a lot in order to keep the process moving.
Pretty standard process, arrive at store location and interview with hiring manager. Manager was prompt and knowledgeable, thanked me for being on time. Asked good questions and gave me room to answer sufficiently.
