Technical interview on the fundamental networking concepts. Focus was on the OSI model, network infrastructure and its purpose, while also some basic questions regarding the initial stages of a penetration test.

Question 1
What does a firewall do, compared to a VPN, and why not use a firewall solely instead of a VPN.
The interview was relatively straight forward and focused on my ability to articulate my skills and experiences as in my CV, aligning my expectations with theirs, and answering my questions on the company culture, job scope etc.
The interview process was lengthy. I completed online assessments before a final video interview, and I went in blind, with no idea what questions might come up. I'd recommend preparing example questions beforehand for the digital interview.
