Pre-screen phone call -> Telephone interview -> Assessment centre
Pre-screen phone call: the whole process took about 5-10 minutes, basically background check on your CV, verifying details of your qualifications, as far as I could remember there were NO interview questions at all.
Telephone interview: the call last for about 20 minutes, mainly typical interview questions like "Why FDM?", "Why IT industry", "Why this programme/this particular role?", "What do you know about the job duties of this role?", etc. If I remember correctly, I was asked 4 questions in total and it was rather casual so you should get passed this stage if you prepared beforehand. I also got the chance to ask some questions.
After a week, I received the invitation to the assessment centre and they offered two dates for you to choose from.
Assessment centre: start off with a 10 minutes HR presentation talk about FDM (the culture, working style, etc.). Then, the first test which was Venn Diagram + Set Notation. The test was mainly easy, with 1-2 difficult questions but if you read the questions carefully then you should be okay.
After finishing the test, I had an interview with the account manager of the line that I applied for. The interview was pretty straight-forward and the interviewer was asking questions from a list. Questions included "Tell me about yourself", "What do you know about FDM?", "Why IT industry?", "Can you tell me about an FDM value that you feel represents you?", etc. I also asked 1-2 questions regarding the role.
The second test was IT aptitude and that one was REALLY DIFFICULT, I suggest learning about basic decoding and coding before taking the test otherwise, you would be quite lost like me and I could only use my logical thinking ability to answer the questions.
After the test, I then had 2 interviews with the academy trainers. They were both very nice and friendly. Questions included "Where do you see yourself in 5 year's time?", "Would you sacrifice quality over deadline?", etc.
I received an offer two days later but I rejected the offer.
TIPS:
1. READ about the FDM values. They will 100% come up in the interviews at the assessment centre. It's best if you know AT LEAST 3 of them because I talked about one of them in the interview then I was asked to talk about two more. COME UP with your own examples, how does this value link to your experience? Why do you think the value represents you as an individual?
2. PREPARE for the IT aptitude test. I did some online but they were nowhere near the difficulty of the one I took at the assessment centre. I guess the best you can do then is to be logical and be REALLY CAREFUL when answering the questions.
3. The assessment centre basically consisted of a lot of WAITING, 50% of the time you will be waiting while the other 50% you will actually be taking part in the tests/ interviews.
