After applying I got a call within less than a week asking me to do a pre-recorded video interview. The recruiter on the phone is very helpful and wants you to succede so take all their advice. They will call you a lot and it will get annoying but it pays off.
Before the video interview he will call you and then send you a list of 4-5 things to look at and think about. Do what he says because these are the exact questions they ask.
The video interview consisted of 4 questions. You have 1 minute to answer and you can see the timer counting down and your face looking back at you so its quite nerve-racking. Don't worry too much, i rambled and got cut off at one point and still got though. Just show passion. You also have a practice question before hand just to get ready, and make sure the audio is working and stuff.
I heard back about a week later with a pass. They then booked me on to the assessment day. Again, your recruiter will help you though this. He told me that they are looking for 8 stregths and to think of examples for them. He also sent a pre-assessment day infomation pack with ALL the info you need. It has tutorials for the tests you will be doing and what the day will consist of.
The assessment day was long. It stated with a presentation about FDM and how great they are. Then we got a very short tour of the trainig center followed by 3h of tests. 1h test on basic code, collegue interactions and logical reasoning all in one, 1h set notation and venn diagram test (you will have tutorials for this from your recruiter and are provided a boocklet during the test), 30min very very basic maths but NO calculator. Adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying large numbers (eg.2920/8 or 7294×28). Also powers and square roots of small numbers. Also some very basic algrebra. Finally a 30min verbal reasoning test where you have to read a story and answer questions. Quite simple.
After this there is lunch for 1h. You do your own thing and can leave the building.
Then there are 3 1on1 interviews with 4-5 questions each. The interviewers were very very nice but could not refrase the question or provide any clarification. They could only repeat the question. Do ask them to do so if you need, it will not affect you. I asked for 1 question to be repeated 4 times.... because I kept getting off track. They will NOT pull you back so make sure you answer the questions and ALWAYS GIVE EXAMPLES. Some questions are yes/no answers. Elaborate because they will not promt you. If youre not sure youve covered the whole question, get them to repeat it. Try to fit in your preped examples but dont force it because they will know.
The interview process is the same for everyone whether youre doing technic or business. They take that into account durint the tests si business people wont know the coding questions. Thats fine.
