You will get the assessment day date if you can satisfy the caller.
3. The assessment day is fun. Nothing complicated but one thing is for sure never bring any negativity of yours. There will 4 parts:
a. Math Question: Don't even bother to learn math that the link that they provides. The questions are so insulting for an example: -54546 + 343 = ?. 143^2 = ?
b.Interview about behavioural questions
c.Interview about Java: No white board questions
d.Set Theory
analytical / Puzzles
CAUTION NOTE:
If you have a bad credit/ bankruptcy or collection dept are calling to make settlement never apply to this company as they will go through a credit check. As you go there a paper will be given to sign so that they can do a background and Credit Check. The reason they are doing it because if you leave the company, they can go to collection to get that $30,000 fine for breaking the commit to stay with them for 2 years. If you already under collection or bankrupted then there is no way they can hold so you are not getting the job.
My view for this company is do not apply here unless you are a useless Computer Science Student. Don't get me wrong , I will go through steps why you should not apply here:
a. The commitment of 2 years is ambiguous. I asked them as I heard from internet that if they can't find job for you after 3 months, you are free. There is no such thing exists. The guy I asked this question was giving long speech about this but not giving me the right answer. I then desperately asked Sir, I like to have a simple answer which is does 3 months finding period exists? The answer he gave me again was ambiguous. Then I asked again Sir, I asked a very simple question. He got offended and said NO. He also said no worries we will always find something for you.
b. we will always find something for you:
This does not guarantees that you will be working as a programmer or the field you are applying. They can send you any department to work. You have no choice. If you are applying as a Oracle DB developer or Java Developer after years long working night after night and ended up working at TD IT inbound position then that is the end of your developer career.
c. Before the interview starts at the assessment day they will give you a paper where there is a question:
Do you understand that we talked to you about you can be reallocate anywhere in Canada?
Option is Yes/ NO. I asked them As I know You guys are giving job in Toronto/ Montreal/ Vancouver. So why it says anywhere in Canada? They said because we are expanding. Wow!
d. Trust me this company is your last choice. After graduating, if you can't find job for 1.5 years or so then you apply here. Cause you are already helpless at that moment. Till then Hello programmers just stay out of this opportunity.
Interviews were very casual and more conversational. It was 3 interviewers with 4 questions each lasting about 10 minutes. The Assessment centre mainly consisted of test on maths, venn and set diagrams and an aptitude test. There were no group activities.
I applied online. I interviewed at FDM Group (Leeds, England) in Dec 2016
Interview
Was a very relaxing assessment centre interview, we were told we would have 3 short interviews with senior employees at FDM and although they were meant to be around 5 minutes each, it wasn't rushed because they gave you time to answer the questions in the way you wanted. It was related more to strengths-based questions, but at the same time you have to show knowledge of technology or the technology industry. Also gave you a presentation of the company, tour of the offices at the assessment centre, lunch break and three separate tests (which weren't too difficult).
