I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at FDM Group
Interview
I was recruited through a job fair.
Technically you go through a phone interview, then go to the FDM office to take an exam and face to face interviews. My interaction with the recruiter though counted as a phone interview since we interacted for a while.
At the FDM office, you're given an introduction to how their business model work. You will get a brief tour of the academy. Afterwords, you take an exam that test your IT knowledge and your logic skills. Logic questions aren't hard if you think through them carefully and don't rush. For the IT questions, if you have some knowledge in coding (JAVA), you will be fine.
The people who will interview you will have your exam scores and ask you mainly personal questions with regards to resume and future career goals.
Honestly, just be yourself. If you are naturally a hard worker and ambitious to learn new things, they will be able to tell and give you an offer. I also heard the interview process changed a bit since I went through FDM.
I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at FDM Group (Singapur) in Feb 2015
Interview
Got to know this company through school’s online virtual job fair. They generally look out for people with keen interest in IT. Students from other majors are still welcome to apply. In my case, I am from the Arts Major. They took a few days to contact me and scheduled for a phone interview few days later. The phone interview is fairly easy, common questions like:
What do you know about FDM?
Why do you want to work in FDM group?
Why did you choose your degree? and why in the end you choose to work in the IT industry?
After which, the recruiter will brief the person more about FDM group and what to expect next. If the phone interview is successful, the next stage would be at the assessment centre. The assessment was conducted in my school. There were a few tests conducted:
Amplitude Test (1hr) - logic reasoning, basic computer science and networking, basic database knowledge and business knowledge. It is fairly easy and it is a multiple choice test
Maths Test(15min) - testing algebra equations, Pythagorus theorem, division and multiplication of big numbers, etc. Do practise before going for the assessment as the time is rather limited.
Set Notation and Venn Diagram (Logic) Test (1hour) - easy and they provide you with guides and references. Would be good to study such theories to get through the test even faster.
After going through the tests, the recruiters will go through some powerpoint slides to talk even more about the company. Most importantly they will emphasise on the employment contract as well as training agreement.
The results will come in a few days or a week and the next stage is the Skype Interview
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at FDM Group (Londres, Inglaterra) in Feb 2015
Interview
Fairly straight forward questions, mainly focused on the business and tech requirement of today's world. Numerical, aptitude and venn diagram tests
FDM described its programme of 2 year commitment and a potential job in a blue chip firm.
