I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Fidelity Investments in Mar 2025
Interview
The interview process started off great with the recruiter interview and the first of two 30-minute interviews. However, the experience took a sharp turn for the worse during my second 30-minute interview with first interviewer's boss.
First, the interview was postponed due to "illness," which now seems like a questionable excuse. When the interview finally happened, it was clear that there had been little to no preparation. The interviewer provided no introduction or agenda and instead jumped straight into vague, impromptu questions that did little to assess behavioral or technical skills.
When I asked standard questions—such as new hire goals/milestones in the first few months and common challenges in the role—I received vague responses, typically starting with "it depends." The lack of clear answers made it difficult to get any meaningful insight into the role or expectations.
To make matters worse, when I asked about the timeline for next steps, the response was just as unclear: "It just depends on when we can find time to discuss." The entire experience felt rushed, unstructured, and dismissive, which was a stark contrast to the earlier positive interactions.
This was by far one of the most unprofessional and uncomfortable interview experiences I’ve had. It left me with serious concerns about the organization’s culture and hiring process
Fairly easy, just one interview, asking me about my past experiences. Was a new grad, asked me about my interest in the market, why I want this job, etc. Overall easy going and the hiring process didn't take too long
Phone call with the employees, tech interview, same day result, questions on past experience. Java, spring and sql questions with one query to write, exception handling in spring based API, it was an hour long interview
