I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs (Londres, Inglaterra) in Sep 2020
Interview
Interview process consisted of one coding round and one virtual on-site interview.
The coding round was fine, the problems I was given, was interesting. The overall conservation was bit dry. In most big tech companies (like Facebook or Apple) recruiters/interviewer always try to engage in some general conversation to sell the role to the candidate first (usually in the separate session over phone) so that candidate can decide if it's worth investing time in the interview. But that was missing from the beginning.
After I cleared the coding round I was invited for the Virtual On-Site which was 4-5 back to back interview in one day.
Some of the interviewers were not very thoroughly prepared, didn't have a share codepad or white boarding application/link in hand. So I ended up sharing my screen and typing in TextApp which are not meant for writing codes.
Although some of the engineers were really friendly and engaged in interesting conversation about various aspects of Software Engineering and day to day work.
But after the interview ended I never heard back from them again.
It's quite natural or normal that I was not selected. But what I find really bad and unprofessional is that even after 6-7 months they never bothered to send an automated rejection email.
I have been interviewed in Facebook, and was rejected and the recruiter was courteous enough to call me personally to break the bad news.
I have been interviewed in Apple, twice, and was rejected in the first attempt, and again the recruiter send some level of feedback and rejection news with in 2 days (got the offer in the second attempt).
So from my perspective the overall experience is really bad and it felt very unprofessional that you expected someone to invest few weeks of their life to prepare and attend interviews but you don't have time to simply click a button to trigger rejection email.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Overall question around algorithm and data structure.
Had Coderpad interview (45 mins), Superday Interview (45mins ,45 mins) virtually. they were DSA , DSA+ System Design. currently waiting for the update. 2 interviewers, were there in each rounds. DSA problems were Optimal approach and find average score
First round was hackerrank assessment having 2 coding questions. Then after clearing that, the first round of interview had Leetcode Hard question, similar to get the maximum score. I was not able to do it. Interviewer was very nice though
