The interview process was overall well structured and fairly smooth. It began with an initial screening conversation that focused on my background and interest in the role. After that, I moved on to more in depth interviews where we discussed my past experiences, problem solving approach, and how I think through real business situations. Some questions were behavioral, while others were more analytical and tested how I would respond under pressure.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs (Bengaluru)
Interview
I interviewed for a VP Software Engineering role at Goldman Sachs few months back and the experience was disappointing. The recruiter’s communication during scheduling and follow-ups felt rude and unprofessional, which was surprising for a firm of this reputation.
The technical rounds focused heavily on data-structures and graph coding problems despite the senior leadership nature of the role. While I explained my approach, I couldn’t fully complete the implementation within the time limit.
Most concerning was the lack of any feedback or follow-up after the interviews. I didn't even know what happened. Overall, this was one of the least professional interview experiences I have encountered.
They send me a selective OA and disappear. After three months, I get the rejection letter. It makes sense since there are so many applicants and job market is so hard
