I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs in Feb 2018
Interview
I attended 3 rounds of interview :-
Round 1 :- 2 hakcerrank questions. First question was very easy and 2nd was of average difficulty.
Round 2 :- Coderpad test :- Given an array of non-negative numbers & a target value, return the length of smallest subarray whose sum is greater than the target value.
You need to give running solution with reduced complexity.
Round 3 :- Telphonic Interview :-
Question 1 :- Count ways to reach the n’th stair
Question 2 :- 5 cards magic trick. You need to find out 5th Card
Just Google above question and you can easily find out solution.
For question 2, I need to explain him the whole trick.
We had 1 hr discussion for both the questions. I solved question 1 completely and gave him approx solution for question 2.
After few days, I got rejection mail. Don't know what exactly happened.
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs (Dallas, TX)
Interview
It started off pretty well with a Coderpad interview, then a three hour phone interview and then a coderpad interiew with an increase in the difficulty. The recruiter didn't get back to me for a month and later I got an invite for an onsite interview. The interview was changed to a video conference for whatever reason and had a two hour interview. It was decent interview. After then, the recuiter gave me reasons that the team is reviewing my feedbacks for more than a month. I couldn't wait any longer when I got an offer from an other company and asked the recruiter if there is any update on the process and that I got an offer from an other company but still would like to work at Goldman Sachs. The recruiter had an update after that the team is not pursuing my candidature this time. I've got no idea what they expect from a candidate. Sad!!!!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Data Structure, Algorithms, JavaScript and whatever you list on your resume
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs (New York, NY) in Oct 2016
Interview
5 interviews - 2 Behavioral, 2 technical, 1 behavioral/offer-no offer, They will ask you about every single language or skill on your resume and if you don't correctly enough they cross it off your resume. It seems intimidating but it is to help pick a good team fit.
