Several rounds with partners and managers and a social with more of the associates. Fairly standard public accounting. Fairly laid back and mirrored their brand personality for the location. Very professional and courteous the entire time. Great communication by the recruiter up to, throughout, and after the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Fairly standard questions, really wanted to dig into personality more than technical knowledge.
I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Sídney) in Mar 2020
Interview
Basic Interview process.
First stage: Aptitude tests which were much easier than other accounting firms (EY and KPMG). Basic and straight forward. Did not have to practise
Second Stage: Online behavioural questions. Similar to Hirevue. 3 questions to answer. Given 30 seconds to prepare for each, with a 90 second response.
Third Stage: Business Case Study. I did this during COVID, so there was no assessment centre and instead was done via ZOOM. Asked to do a SWOT analysis on a company. Given 30 minutes. Relatively straight forward and easy to prepare
Fourth Stage Final: Interview with manager/Partner. All behavioural questions. Nothing to technical
Took ages to get back to me though after the interview process. Was close to 3 weeks after.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Grant Thornton in Jan 2020
